The Cleveland Baptist Association walks alongside individuals and churches in the discernment, preparation, and recognition of ordained ministry through the American Baptist Churches-USA. This process is grounded in prayer, guided by your local congregation, and administered by the CBA Department of Ministry.

Getting Started
A Quick Overview of the Process

Pray and discern your call to ministry. Seek God’s guidance as you consider this next step.

Speak with your pastor. Share your call and begin the conversation within your church.

Connect with the CBA. Your pastor will help initiate contact with the CBA Regional Executive Minister.

Attend an Ordination Information Session. Learn about expectations, pathways, and requirements.

Complete the required application and preparation steps. This ensures you are properly guided and supported throughout the process.

Continue the process with guidance from the CBA Department of Ministry. You will be supported through each stage toward ordination or recognition.
