The CBA Wishes You and Your Loved Ones a "Happy Thanksgiving"!
"Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love… for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” - Psalm 107:8–9
Greetings CBA Family,
On this sacred day of gratitude, my heart is full as I reflect on the Lord’s unfailing love, which strengthens us, sustains us, and generously provides for our needs. As the psalmist reminds us, God alone satisfies the weary soul and fills the hungry with good things (Psalm 107).
Although I could go on all day reflecting on God’s goodness and grace, it is with blessed assurance that I gladly share the following TEN THINGS for which I am deeply grateful:
The opportunity to serve as the Regional Executive Minister of the Cleveland Baptist Association (CBA), laboring and learning alongside you in our collaborative efforts to foster growth, strengthen our ministries, and contribute to the fulfilment of our shared purpose.
The Faithful Leadership of the CBA Officers and Board of Trustees, led by the unwavering commitment of Rev. Dr. James Quincy, our CBA President.
Our pastors, churches, and lay leaders, who embody the spirit of partnership, resilience, and joyful service while caring for God’s children throughout Greater Cleveland.
Our community partners across the region, who collaborate with us in the work of compassion, justice, and advocacy while serving those who are vulnerable and overlooked.
The dedicated CBA staff and contractors, especially Sis. Albertine Boclear, my administrative assistant, for the cooperative dedication, flexibility, and steadfast support.
Our wider denominational family: CBA Ministers Council, American Baptist Churches USA, American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS), the Regional Executive Ministers Council (REMC), the American Baptist Foundation, and all of our affiliate partners, whose collaboration, encouragement, and shared witness truly extend our reach and strengthen our impact.
The prayer warriors and intercessors, who continuously lift up the CBA with faith, power, and spiritual covering.
Those who paved the way before us… and those who are rising to lead after us, reminding us that we are part of a long story and legacy that is much greater than ourselves.
My family and loved ones, whose love, laughter, and encouragement continue to inspire me in every season.
And above all, our Savior, Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, whose love, mercy, and faithfulness carry me each and every day.
This season of Thanksgiving also reminds us that “it is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35) As we celebrate this holiday, let us remember those who struggle during this season, those grieving, those alone, and those who lack the basic necessities of life. May we continue to extend compassion, love, generosity, and kindness wherever (and however) the Lord leads.
I remain profoundly grateful for each of you and for the privilege of serving this beloved association.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Rev. Dr. TaNikka Sheppard
CBA, Regional Executive Minister
